Ten Grand Leg is a three-person band with a huge sound out of the Greenville, SC area. Greenville is not known for producing good music, just the few bands that perform in the usual coffee houses. Ten Grand Leg excels the typical band by adding in the different octaves to each song similar to an Alice in Chains effect. Their music is both angry and peaceful depending on the song. With just the few selected songs on myspace Really Long Link TGL illustrates their diversity with songs such as “Craving,” “Brother,” and “I Miss You.” “Craving” demonstrates the band’s softer and sensual side by bringing in the jazzy undertones along with the rhythm and soothing vocals. The lyrics get right to the point of what “Craving” is about, but the words flow along with the sound. “Fairweather Friend” is on the other end of the mood spectrum, anger and betrayal. The lyrics can hit home with anyone who had a so-called friend. Ten Grand Leg’s music is great to exercise, jam out in the car, chill out with friends or along, and would make a great addition to Guitar Hero. They have many influences, but maintain their own unique sound.
